In this post, We will tackle about some frequently asked questions from beginners who wants to learn about SEO or search engine optimization to improve their blog/site visits
What is SEO?
SEO stands for Search Engine Optimization and it refers to ways of optimizing websites or blogs to be placed in the best possible way on the search engines, on a simpler description; SEO is simply just some techniques to make your blog rank high on search engines like Google, Yahoo or Bing.
Why is so important to learn SEO?
It is good to know SEO if you want to grow your blog visitors. Knowledge in this area will help you promote your blog and thus having more chances of building your blog's redership.
Why? because when your blog is search engine optimized, then that means it has a high priority on search engines, When someone search about a similar stuff to the content of your blog then that means you have a higher priority to show up first on search engine results
And part of it is that You need to know that “content is the king”. Quality content is the essence, without it, it’s like trying to ride on a bicycle without wheels. With poor-quality content you’re like fooling someone, So make sure you’re able to produce quality content that would somewhat be a good reason for people to visit your blog again.
What kind of knowledge do I need to learn SEO?
In SEO, "links are power", so you will need to know exactly what a link is; this means you need to have a little bit of knowledge of HTML.
The SEO field is divided into two major categories. On-page SEO optimization and Off-page SEO optimization.
On-page SEO is the way you arrange the text on the page so it would be understood by the search engine. Off- page SEO refers to the way you add as many external references to you blog, simply put: the number of links found on other pages and those pages visitors ending up on your website. For on-pages SEO you need to focus much on your content's structure for optimizing your site or blog.
For the off-page SEO you don’t need to do anything special. Any person with basic knowledge of browsing the internet can gather and add links. Instead, you need other talents and qualities like the power of persuasion, your negotiation abilities and how well you can search the internet for certain things. More precisely this aspect is the incoming links from other websites. It is much more difficult to control the off-page factors, than the on-page SEO.
So there you have it, the part 1 of learning the basics of Search engine Optimization, Why Part 1? because it has Part 2! SEO is a very wide topic, and to stick to just a single element of search engine optimizing would not be a smart move.
So What's next? We'll tackle more on the fundamentals of SEO and I almost forgot! the best themes for your blog, so stay tuned.
